Hackman Christmas Letter
December 2008 1113 York Ave. Lansdale, PA 19446

Seasons’s Greetings from the Hackman’s in PA! When we think back over the year 2008, there are many good and happy times, especially with family and friends!
Our family highlights for the year include trips we took—Ohio with Nussbaum family, Vermont with Hackman family, and a family vacation to Oregon. While in Oregon, Jeff & Rose celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary!
We are continually amazed at how our children are growing, both physically and spiritually. We thank God daily for them!
Daniel is in fifth grade. He continues to love reading, math and science. Daniel enjoys playing and watching football. All three kids continued piano lessons this year, with a couple recitals.
Hannah is in third grade. She loves reading and math in school, and art projects anytime. The children enjoy their hamsters. All of us experienced death as Hannah’s hamster passed away.
Heidi is in third grade. She loves reading, drawing and piano. All three got to ride horses for the first time this year. Heidi and Hannah needed eyeglasses for the first time this summer.
Rose continues to face the challenges of being wife, mother, career woman, school volunteer and church member. She is in her fourth year at Towamencin Mennonite Church, where she is part-time congregational coordinator. She ended her employment at Care & Share.
Jeff is enjoying his seventh year teaching at Christopher Dock Mennonite High School. Between a presidential election and economic turbulence, it is quite a year for social studies! While leading a student group to Washington, DC he got to take a White House tour. He continues to help plan peace and justice activities at school and at church.
We feel we’ve joined the “sandwich generation”—while raising our own children we increasingly sense the need to care for our parents as they deal with health issues.
We look forward to reading letters or emails from many of you this Advent. We hope you have a blessed Christmas, and we wish you a wondrous 2009!
Now, may the Almighty bless you from God’s exceeding abundance of mercy, love and grace. May we be equipped to serve one another. Let us share the bounty of God with our neighbors—both near and far!
Salaam/Shalom! Jeff, Rose, Daniel, Hannah and Heidi
